Designed to give the feeling of a bygone era when things were made by hand, out of real wood. This clock is handmade from Quarter Sawn White Oak. This beautiful wood has a character that reminds me of turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts/ Mission/ or Craftsman furniture, but this design is 100% original. The dovetailed corners are not the easiest or fastest way to build, but they will last forever and look great! The colored glass brings a bit of Art Deco design, making this clock stand apart from others and making a great conversation piece. The finish is a water-based dye, followed by a gel stain to highlight the grain, three coats of wipe-on poly for a durable hard finish, and a hand-rubbed wax to give a smooth polished sheen. Each clock is slightly different because each is handmade by me. I measure, cut, and fit each piece. Sand with an orbital sander and by hand and apply finish with a rag. Because of this, every piece has imperfections that give it that handmade character you won't get from a factory-built piece. The clock insert is easily removed from the front to set time and change the single AA size battery. Dimensions are approximately 8-3/4" wide x 9" tall x 5-1/2" deep
